THE STORY BEHIND FREE HANG
I’m Alex, I’m 36, and Free Hang began with a very personal question: could something as simple as the underwear I wore every day be worth thinking about more carefully?
My journey into fatherhood wasn’t straightforward. After struggling to conceive, I visited a fertility clinic and discovered that my sperm count was lower than expected.
That experience led me to research male fertility, including lifestyle, nutrition, heat, pressure and the everyday choices that can form part of the bigger picture.
I started looking more closely at men’s underwear and realised how little attention was given to room, breathability and restriction. Most options seemed designed around appearance rather than anatomy.
I wanted something that gave more room where it matters without being loose, bulky or old-fashioned. I couldn’t find what I was looking for, so I decided to create it.
Free Hang was built around a simple idea: men deserve underwear that respects their anatomy, feels comfortable throughout the day and gives them space to move naturally.
Today, I’m a dad to two children, aged one and three. My experience changed the way I think about everyday comfort and the importance of making more considered choices.
Free Hang isn’t about promising a medical outcome. It’s about improving something men wear every single day and offering a more thoughtful alternative.
